425. DRESS AND GROOMING
1.
Purpose
Professional employees set an example for their students to follow in dress and
grooming and should present an image of dignity and encourage respect for
authority. These factors act in a positive manner towards the maintenance of school
and classroom discipline.
2.
Authority
SC 510
The Board has the authority to specify reasonable dress and grooming guidelines for
staff, within law, that will prevent an adverse impact on the educational program.
3.
Guidelines
Dress Code
A dress code for professional employees shall be developed in accordance with the
provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
4.
Delegation of
Responsibility
If an employee feels that an exception to this policy would enable him/her to carry
out assigned duties more effectively, a request should be made to the principal.
